We deal with mostly first timers – people that they never thought they would see themselves in a situation where they would have to hire a criminal lawyer. The key element that all of our clients have is generally our clients have everything to lose. I am proud with what we have been able to accomplish for our clients, I am proud of what we do every day. We take people's lives and we can give that back to them.
At our law firm we don't fight over trivial matters such as money. We fight over lives. We fight over a person's ability to maintain a conviction-free criminal record, a person's ability to maintain their employment, maintain their family, to stay free of incarceration. That, to me, is the most noble thing a lawyer could do and I am extremely proud of our ability at Stradley, Chernoff and Alford to do that.
Every person that is accused of a crime is innocent until the state of Texas proves them guilty and our philosophy is we will do everything in our power within the bound of ethics to keep them from doing it. When we walk in a court room the prosecutor and the judge and everyone in there knows that that client means business.
We deal with the same detectives over, and over again. We deal with the same prosecutors every day. They understand that when we talk to them we are shooting them straight. I would defy anybody to find a group of lawyers or a law firm that has the kind of reputation that we have in our local community as being professionals, as understanding what we are doing and being able to being about success for our clients.
If you sit in our waiting room for a while you will see a book there on our desk and in it are dozens of thank you notes from clients, past clients from years ago thanking us for saving them and saving their reputations.
