DWI and Your Driver's License
Matthew Alford explains the affects of being pulled over for drunk driving on your driver's license.
People come to me and they ask, "Matt what do I do now that I have been charged with DWI and my license has been suspended?" What I tell them is, "your license has not automatically been suspended. You have 15 days to lets us know at Stradley, Chernoff and Alford to request a hearing to fight your suspension." Once we request that hearing, then the state of Texas has to have a hearing that we will attend for you in order to take your license. If we win that hearing, you are not ever going to have license suspension based on a refusal or failure of a breath test. If we are not successful at that hearing, then we will be able to keep you driving anyway. We will be able to get you an occupational license that allows you to get you where you need to be. |
